The oldest natural history museum in the Americas closes Sunday
We post about Overwatch rosters and jerseys. This is not that. I watched Milo Rossi's video on it last night, signed the petition, and I would rather use the account for something that matters this week.
Drexel University is closing the museum at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. It was founded in 1812, it is the oldest natural history museum in the Americas, and its staff found out the same day the public did. Sunday, September 27th is the last day it is open. Reporting this week says the plan is to move the collection out and sell the building. More than 17 million specimens sit inside, including ones that are the only reference example in existence for their species.

Two minutes, and it does not matter that you are nowhere near Philadelphia:
- Sign the petition, linked at save-the-academy.org
- Email Drexel's president. The campaign has the current addresses. A few sentences in your own words beats a form letter. Be professional about it.
- Share it. #SaveTheAcademy
I signed and sent mine this morning. If enough people do the same this week, this stops being a decision that gets made quietly.
